A few years ago Korsnäs, a leading Swedish paper manufacturer, took the decision to review their transport systems for the UK and Ireland. After a detailed analysis, Korsnäs decided to move away from their own System traffic solution with three charter vessels, to a combination of train and DFDS’ Ro-Ro-services. In doing so, they allowed themselves to focus on their core business and work with their customers to optimise production and service levels.

The right solution identified
After a close cooperation with a dedicated DFDS team, Korsnäs identified the right solution for them. By taking advantage of the frequent and the reliable vessels solutions from DFDS, Korsnäs has been able to reduce their lead time to their customers. DFDS Tor Line is reloading the reels and pallets of paper, which are arriving by rail from Gothenburg, over to sea cassette. Cargo is then made ready for the sailing across to Immingham.

Highly experienced and dedicated staff are organising the delivery to customers from the UK warehouse at DFDS Nordic Terminal, Immingham or directly from vessel in order to optimize the transport and ensure on time delivery. Streamlined administration and integrated IT systems keep track of the cargo throughout the transport chain.
