Rotterdam - Immingham - Daily sailings except Sundays

ShortBridge South links the industrial regions of the Midlands and Northern England with the manufacturing and consumer regions of the Benelux countries and Germany.

The service between Rotterdam and Immingham has undergone dramatic development in recent years and is now served by two large 2,200 lane metre Ro-Ro vessels with a service speed of 18,5 knots. Today, we offer six sailings per week in each direction. The vessels have cabin accommodation for 12 drivers and carry all types of Ro-Ro and container cargoes. We operate our own terminals in both ports and have the capability to handle hazardous goods and temperature controlled units as well as heavy-lift plant , machinery and break bulk cargo.

In Immingham DFDS Nordic Terminal has its own rail and steel terminals and extensive warehousing of 50,000 square metres. DFDS Nordic Terminal covers about 780,000 square metres which includes a car storage compound for 6,000 cars. The terminal also operates a 2,000 sq.ft. chilled transhipment store and warehouse.

In Rotterdam DFDS operates a 200,000 square metre Ro-Ro terminal in Maasvlakte . With two Ro/Ro berths and a quay-wall of 500 metres and a draft of over 12 metres, this terminal is able to handle even the largest Ro-Ro vessels as well as several lo/lo vessels and river barges simultaneously. Its prime location close to the sea entrance to the river Maas is surrounded by the main deep sea terminals and gives the Maasvlakte terminal all the ingredients to fulfil an important future strategic role.

Both terminals include extensive warehousing for storage, distribution and transhipment/crossdocking and also have workshops carrying out trailer and equipment repairs, maintenance and MOT.

Ijmuiden(Amsterdam) - Newcastle (ShortBridge North) - Daily sailings

These vessels carry a high percentage of driver accompanied vehicles, trailers as well as other types of wheeled units. ShortBridge North is the most Northern Ro/Ro service from the UK to Holland linking Scotland, Ireland and the North of England to Northern Holland and Germany.
